WHERE: The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, 2148 Riverside Dr., Jackson, MS 39202

WHAT: The Private Eye is a learning process, curriculum materials and professional development program to rivet the eye and rocket the mind. It builds Looking Closely, Thinking by Analogy, Changing Scale and Theorizing—the most important habits of mind for success in school and in life.

You'll give your students (and colleagues) a wallop of wonder and mystery using a jeweler’s loupe, everyday objects, and a powerful inquiry process. Students explore every content area with fresh perspective and surprise themselves as they write, draw and theorize at sophisticated levels. The personal eye and the investigative eye unite. Habits of close observation bloom. Critical thinking soars. Creativity flows. Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core come to life. Discover how easy it is to magnify minds.

WHO: Teachers of all subjects and grade levels are invited to come join the fun and learning!

WHEN: Friday July 22, 2016 9:00 am - 3:00 pm – Bring a BAG LUNCH

Participants will earn .6 CEU credits from Mississippi College. Participants receive a Private Eye Activity
Guide.
