Field Camp (Entering Grades 10,11,12)

 Field Camp  is an ecology based camp that focuses on field collection and study of our native species for students entering Grades 10-12. Each day will involve travel to field study site to learn collection techniques of real field biologists. Camp will be Monday -Thursday from 8-5ish with an overnight on Wednesday Night at Camp Shelby.We are happy to partner with the MS National Guard Environmental Department for Field Camp. Only fifteen spots are available for this camp.

 

July 6 & 7, 2015 (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) Fisheries collecting techniques on a local lake and birding on a bald cypress swamp in the Delta.

July 8, 2015 ( (8:00 a.m. -Overnight at Camp Shelby) - Stream assessment and macroinvertebrate collection on a south MS stream and travel to camp Shelby.

July 9, 2015 Return to Jackson by 6 p.m. -  Touring of the gopher tortoise nusery and field assessment of active burrows on Camp Shelby(the gopher tortoise is an Endangered Species in MS).

Member Fee - $200.00

Non-Member Fee - $225.00
