June Entrepreneurs' Cafe:
Farming Real Food - What is Real Food
Featuring speaker, Tara Smith, Executive and Farmer
What is Real Food? A humorous and sometimes shocking look at our food industry through the eyes of a city girl and what she did to take a stand for Real Food.
In 2008, Tara Smith and her husband were minding their health insurance business when their son came home with the book, Omnivore’s Dilemma. From that moment on, food became an obsession. In 2009, they bought a 290-acre farm feeding 1000 families by 2012 and educating the public.
About the Speaker:
Living out her convictions Tara Smith jumped from a successful executive career in the Long Term Care Insurance industry to Farming. Raising and growing REAL food, she seeks to share her experience, inspiration and the humor that has brought her down the unlikely and surprising path as a successful farmer.
