Join the Houston-Galveston Area Council to the
Fall Planning Workshop: Planning at the Edge
Friday, November 9th

The H-GAC region has experienced unprecedented growth over the past decade, especially in "edge" and unincorporated areas. Changes in annexation law and the limited authority granted to Texas counties present unique challenges in responding to this growth and coordinating planning for infrastructure and services. This year’s Fall Planning Workshop, will focus on the issues and approaches that communities can take to be successful in Planning at the Edge.

We hope you will join us to learn about regional development trends and the current legislative and regulatory landscape. You’ll also hear from elected officials and staff about what their jurisdictions, counties and cities, are doing to promote quality growth. We’ll wrap up with a presentation on what to expect from the 2019 Texas Legislature in terms of bills with the potential to impact local planning.

The Houston Section of the American Planning Association (APA) is co-sponsoring this workshop and offering 4.0 CM credits for AICP continuing education.
