Josey Lake Park, a project of Howard Hughes Corporation—Bridgeland, is the winner of the Parks and Natural Areas Awards Planning Process Category. This project is a 120-acre recreation facility with various ecosystem types providing users with a variety of recreational opportunities.

Josey Lake Park exemplifies quality of life improvement by adding connections to the environment for residents of Bridgeland. As part of the planning process, Howard Hughes CorporationBridgeland considered long-term benefits of the park, including providing pedestrian access to a future town center and mitigating long-term maintenance costs. In addition to adding a new recreation area for the community, the Josey Lake Park adds 13 acres of wetlands and habitat for fish, amphibians, and aquatic and migratory birds.
