2015 Crime and Gang Prevention Summit 

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the City of San Jose, we would like to invite you to attend the Seventh Annual Crime and Gang Prevention Summit sponsored by the Mayor's Gang Prevention Task Force. The purpose of this summit is to promote and encourage partnerships among residents, the City of San Jose, and local community-based organizations to build a safer and more vibrant city.

The summit will feature informational workshops, a community resource fair, children’s activities*, and a free lunch for participants. Workshop topics include:

  • Gang 102 & A Way Out
  • Mayor's Gang Prevention Task Force: Proving It Works
  • We're All In It Together: Servicing Our Youth & Families, 
  • The Power of Multi-Media (Youth Voice Initiative & Youth Digital Arts)
  • Re-Entry: The Process of Coming Home

Fabian Debora, a counselor and mentor with Homeboy Industries, will discuss the importance of finding employment and job training skills for our youth as part of the keynote address.
