Learning Forward Mississippi  2018 Fall  Learning Retreat

"Training without follow up is malpractice." If the goals for professional learning are changes in educator practice and increases in student learning, attention must be given to support for implementation.  Learning Forward Mississippi's Fall Learning Retreat will focus on successful implementation of initiatives/innovations according to research and best practices supported by the development of the Implementation standard. 

Participants will gain a conceptual framework for understanding implementation and determining our role(s) in it.  The Day 1 session will guide participants in understanding and using "change management" tools that support fidelity of implementation as well as maintaining momentum through the challenges of the process.  Day 2 will provide participants with an opportunity to hear from Mississippi educators about implementations underway in their schools/districts, their successes, and the issues encourntered along the way.

Our key presenter is Stephanie Hirsh, Executive Director for Learning Forward: The Professional Learning Association.

Learning produces change and change yields improvement.  BRING a CURRENT INITATIVE from your school/district that cannot afford to fail and work through the development of an implementation plan.

SCHEDULE: 

Mon, Nov 12, 2018:  Registration (7:30-8:00) Breakfast on your own.   /   Workshop (8:00-4:00) Lunch provided.

Tues, Nov 13, 2018:  Workshop (8:00-2:30) Breakfast on your own. / Lunch provided. 

SEMI & CEU CREDITS:

SEMI (10), OSL (1) and CEU(1.0) credits will be available.  Plan to attend all day BOTH days to receive credit.

There will be no charge for teachers requesting CEU credit.

PAYMENT: 

The registration fee for the workshop is $225.  This includes lunches on Monday and Tuesday; a book; and workshop materials.
