Learning Forward Mississippi's 2016 Fall Learning Retreat will offer guidance on implementing and understanding the Learning Designs portion of MS Accreditation Standard 15. Sessions will focus on applying learning theories, research, and models; selecting and using learning designs for professional learning; and promoting active engagement of adult learners.
Workshop presenters are Dr. Leanne Long, Professional Learning Project Manager and Assistant Research Professor - Research Curriculum Unit / Mississippi State University; Amy Rogers, Teacher - Purvis Elementary School / Lamar County Schools; and Dr. Joe Nelson, Principal - Pass Christian Middle School.
Peggy Williams, MDE Accreditation Auditor - Retired, Lamar County Schools, will facilitate a session with a number of successful school districts across Mississippi sharing how they use a variety of learning designs with their faculties.
SCHEDULE:
Monday, September 26, 2016: Registration & Vendor Visitation (8:00-9:00) Breakfast on your own / Workshop (9:00-3:00) Lunch provided.
Tuesday, September 27, 2016: Continental Breakfast & Business Meeting (8:30-9:00) / Vendor Visitation (9:00-9:15) / Workshop (9:15-11:45) Lunch on your own.
SEMI & CEU CREDITS:
SEMI and CEU Credits will be offered. Plan to attend all day Monday and Tuesday to receive credit.
The cost for CEU credit is $15.00. Pay at the door with cash or a check payable to Learning Forward MISSISSIPPI.
PAYMENT:
The registration fee for the workshop is $175.00. This includes lunch on Monday; continental breakfast on Tuesday; a copy of the book Reach the Highest Standards in Professional Learning; Learning Designs by Eleanor Drago-Severson, Patricia Roy, and Valerie Von Frank; and other workshop materials.
