Communications That Work at Work

Communication can drive or destroy employee engagement and your bottom line.

The way you communicate with people at work is just as critical to your company’s success as the way you communicate with your customers. What you say and how you say it can make your employees and colleagues feel valued and respected . . . or not. And they will likely make your customers feel the same way.

You’ve heard it before, and it makes sense – If employees are happy, customers are happy. But not all business owners, managers and employees are making that connection.

A 2013 Gallup report shows that 67 percent of Florida workers are not engaged at work, and the level of engagement of employees providing direct service to customers is lower than any other occupation.

This workshop – designed for business owners, managers, supervisors, and employees – will combine instruction, exercises and individual practice to help participants:

  • Understand their communication style
  • Communicate clearly and effectively
  • Develop tools for handling difficult conversations
  • Improve their listening skills
  • Use their words to build trust

Linda Culbertson is founder and president of Foresight Communications & Consulting.  An award-winning writer and strategist, Linda is passionate about helping CEOs, small business owners, politicians and government executives enhance communication with customers, constituents and employees. Her 28 years of management experience – 14 at the executive level – enables her to understand and support leaders as they face today’s communication challenges.

Linda helps individuals and organizations drill through barriers created by roles, rules and expectations to identify their authentic voice – the voice with which they can interact with others in the most compelling and effective way – and collaborates with them to create clear and consistent written and verbal communications and strategies for delivering them.

Foresight’s services include one-on-one coaching and group facilitation, copywriting, speechwriting, brand message development and design and strategic communications planning.

Before establishing Foresight, Linda built and led a communications group in an organization with 800+ employees, providing services in the areas of executive, employee and customer communications, marketing, publication development, social media, event management, media relations, and video production.
