Tallahassee Area Chapter of the ACFE - May 23, 2019 Meeting 

Dear Friends and Members of Florida’s Capital Chapter of the ACFE: The Board cordially invites you to attend our next regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, May 23, 2019.

The guest speaker will be Special Agent in Charge Edwin S. Bano for the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Office of Inspector General who will present on "Mortgage Fraud".

This Meeting's Guest Speaker

Ed is the Special Agent in charge for the Federal Housing Finance Agency-Office of Inspector General (FHFA-OIG) Tampa, FL field office. As the Special Agent in Charge of the Tampa field office, Ed supervises 7 special agents, 4 in Tampa and 3 in Miami. Ed's previous work experience includes approximately 8 years as a Special Agent with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development- Office of Inspector General (HUD-OIG). While at HUD-OIG he was promoted to the Assistant Special Agent in Charge where he supervised offices and Special Agents in Miami, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Prior to working at HUD-OIG, Ed worked two years as a Financial Analyst for the U.S. Department of Hosuing and Urban Development in the Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH). Additonally, Ed has eight years of work experience in the private sector, performing various positions in accounting.

Ed's investigative experience has primarily focused on Mortgage fraud, single family and multi-family fraud and public corruption involving Federal Program funds. Ed has 17 years of Federal service and approximately 8 years in the private sector. Ed has a MBA in Accounting from Manhattan College, and a BA in Accounting from Lehman College (CUNY) he also holds his Certified Fraud Examiner Credential (CFE).
