The Pelican Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors was incorporated in April 1980 from the outgrowth of the merit shop in Louisiana and the need to adequately service the construction industry throughout the state. It has developed into a statewide, diverse, non-profit, trade association of contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and associates who have joined together to advance the construction industry by aggressively supporting the merit shop philosophy and the free enterprise alliance. The Pelican Chapter has grown tremendously over the past twenty-two years and we have soared to great heights. Pelican Chapter now has over 480 members and covers 52 parishes in the state of Louisiana.

The Concrete & Aggregate Association of Louisiana is a  group of companies and people who voluntarily come together to meet common needs, solve common problems, and accomplish common goals, relative to Portland cement concrete. Our stated mission is "To serve the membership and increase the use of Portland cement concrete in the construction and rehabilitation of airports, highways, industrial facilities, streets, parking lots, residential homes, commercial buildings and other construction related uses throughout Louisiana, by providing the public with a quality product that is safe, cost effective and environmentally sound."

The Louisiana Asphalt Pavement Association is a nonprofit trade association established in 1959: to promote and foster the business of asphalt plant owners and operators, to promote plantmix asphalt with and use by various agencies, such as, by way of example and without limitation, the federal government and its departments and agencies, the State of Louisiana, the Department of Highways, and other agencies of the state, parish and municipal; governments, city, town and municipal street departments, and various industrial concerns; to strive for the production of better asphalt pavement, and to this end, to utilize local materials where possible, to encourage sound business methods and practices; to foster and advance the progress of the industry as a whole; and in general, to enter into and engage in any lawful activity incidental to or necessary or desirable for the carrying on of any of the foregoing purposes.

Louisiana Associated General Contractors is the only statewide, full-service construction trade association representing nearly 800 general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and service firms throughout Louisiana.  Formed in 1949, Louisiana AGC is one of 94 chapters of the 33,000-member Associated General Contractors of America, headquartered in Washington, D.C.  Louisiana AGC’s mission is to be the voice of the Louisiana construction industry.  The association offers a full range of services to its members to help them succeed and improve in their day-to-day operations.
