   Scratch

This hands on workshop will introduce you to Scratch,  a free project from the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at MIT Media Lab.  Scratch is an online programming language that encourages creativity, reasoning, and problem solving. Scratch is also used in conjunction with a variety of devices including Makey Makey, Lego Mindstorms, Brick Pi’s (Dexter Industries) and other educational hardware. Great for creating Digital artifacts this online resource is open ended allowing for infinite ways for integration within your curriculum. Attendees will leave with a completed Scratch project, resources and scratching their head with new ideas for the classroom.  Attendees should log on to https://scratch.mit.edu/ and create an account. Not required however having an account will allow you to save your project.
