It's Elementary, My Dear!

This workshop is designed for elementary teachers who are looking for strategies to incorporate the new social studies standards, specifically the economics and personal finance strands, into math and reading. Teachers will have an opportunity to explore multiple resources with hundreds of lessons that look at econ and personal finance through the lens of math and children's literature. 

The session will be presented via Zoom and will be very interactive. Please come prepared to participate and have fun. Also, there will be a lunch Q&A panel with finance industry professionals. Please consider being prepared with a question or two.

There is no cost to attend but space is limited.

  • Certificates for 7 hours of high-quality professional development will be provided.
  • Activities are aligned to NC Essential Standards in Social Studies, math and language arts.
  • Activites are interactive and hands-on.
  • Arrive early (8:25) to sign in.
  • Access to web-based resources with thousands of lesson plans and interactive resources will be provided.
  • Substitute pay will be provided for teachers who attend the entire session.
