Hiring and Retaining Aboriginal Apprentices: Challenges and Opportunities

The Canadian Apprenticeship Forum –CAF-FCA will host an interactive session where participants are invited to share their perspectives about hiring and retaining apprentices.

A workplace that is inclusive of Aboriginal peoples provides employers with access to a stable and local workforce, supports the positive reputation of the company and creates new business opportunities with Indigenous communities.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Discuss the barriers faced by employers and apprentices and make recommendations on how to address these challenges
  • Hear about CAF-FCA research on the business case for hiring Aboriginal apprentices and tradespeople
