'Law Medicine  and Ethics'

- The LDLA Oxford Conference  2013

The legal, moral and philosophical issues of  medical ethics, assisted dying and abortion. Issues on which we may never have a party policy, but ones that are the most important and should be debated  - Perhaps the most interesting and challenging conference of the year.

Presentations and discussions by experts and lawyers, 6

Speaker 1: Dr Paul J Fairchild

is a Fellow of Trinity College, University Lecturer in Pathology at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology and Co-Director of the Oxford Stem Cell Institute University of Oxford - an overview of scientific developments in the field of stem cell research and regenerative medicine and highlighting some of the ethical challenges, legal issues and commercial opportunities.

Barristers of One Crown Office Row, Temple will stage a mock trial to demonstrate legal, ethical, medical and practical
issues

Speaker 7: Kate Greasley

Stipendiary lecturer in law at Hertford College, Oxford. Kate will focus on proposed changes to the law, and will give some background about the current state of the law concerning abortion.
