VTASCE GeoInstitute- Jeffersonville Landslides Revisited

Slope Stability and Cone Penetration Testing was completed during a Geotechnical field day in August at landslides in Jeffersonville, VT. The GeoInstitute Chapter of VTASCE will cover the site history, present situation and studies, the results of our cone penetration testing and interpretation of the testing done this summer. Test results from the ARA/VerTek trailer mounted CPTu rig will be presented.  Networking and dinner included!

The program will have three speakers:

• George Springston, Research Associate at Norwich will give an overview of glaciolacustrine deposits in Vermont including Lake Hitchcock and Lake Stowe.
• Les Kanat, Professor at Johnson State College, has been studing the Jeffersonville slides for over 15 years and has lead numerous student research projects on various aspects.
• Ryan Langlois of VerTek will give results and interpretation of the cone penetration testing performed in August 2015.
