The 2019 NAMI NH Annual Conference is Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Grappone Conference Center, Concord, NH.  Check-in will begin at 8:00 am with a light breakfast.  The conference kicks off at 9:00 am with opening remarks from Ken Norton, NAMI NH Executive Director; and Commissioner Jeffrey Meyers, NH Department of Health and Human Services. A keynote presentation featuring Rock 101's Adam "Furious" Fournier and In Our Own Voice speakers will follow.

The Power to Change Lives: Hope, Recovery, & Connection

Stories of hope and recovery are powerful.  They remind us we’re not alone.  They inspire us to seek help.  They connect us to one another.  They offer a way forward and through.  Stories of hope and recovery change lives.

In this keynote presentation, Rock 101’s Adam “Furious” Fournier will share how the death of Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell connected him to NAMI NH.  Adam will also help facilitate two powerful personal stories of recovery from In Our Own Voice presenters Todd Donovan and Rosie Muise. Hear how Rosie’s journey brought her from audience member to IOOV presenter after hearing Todd’s powerful story of hope.  Now both Todd and Rosie share their stories so others might find help and hope.

The conference will have morning and afternoon workshops, statewide resource exhibits, NAMI  NH Volunteer Recognition, and presentation of NAMI NH Annual Awards, concluding by 4:00 pm. Pre-registration is required and includes a light breakfast, lunch and all materials for the day. Review the workshop descriptions and then click the links below to register.

Presenter: David Granirer

Founder, Stand Up For Mental Health

David has presented for NAMI's across the nation. You have to be nuts to take counsellor and stand-up comic David Granirer's Stand Up For Mental Health program where he teaches stand-up comedy to people with mental illness, but the results can be life-changing!  This hilarious presentation is part comedy and part education. David, who himself suffers from depression, looks at how comedy can help fight the stigma around mental illness. Through video clips you'll get to see examples of his comics breaking down barriers by finding the lighter side of their mental health journeys.
