River Tours Dry Land Training 7/29/22

Join us at this 2 hour training to learn the basics of volunteering with the River Tours canoe and kayak program!  This training is 'dry land' and will take place at the River Center (11605 Old Friant Rd, Fresno, CA).  You will learn about the River Tours program and basic volunteer expectations, complete volunteer paperwork, learn how to properly load and unload the canoe and kayak trailers, and practice towing the boat trailers.

Volunteers assist with shuttling participants between the put-in and take-out points for each tour, loading and unloading the boat trailers, and group management on the water.  Volunteers are asked to assist with at least one trip per month. Most trips only require one volunteer. All volunteers must have a valid drivers license and their own vehicle (or access to a vehicle), be able to climb a ladder, and be able to lift 40 lbs.  To become a volunteer you will need to attend at least two of the four training sessions (one dry land, one downriver).
