Welcome to the land of Lewis and Clark and the historic Oregon Trail!
We are honored to invite you to Portland to attend the NW/SW JETS in November 2014. In the pioneering spirit of the Northwest, the symposium will be "Exploring New Horizons" of issues facing the engineering and construction industry in these changing yet exciting times. Planning for this Symposium is well underway to deliver relevant and current information through the following *six tracks:
In addition, the Symposium will host a “Meet the Chiefs” session, featuring officials from the USACE Districts and military branches within the Northwest and Southwest. These officials will present how each agency contracts with the architecture, engineering, and construction community, and what projects are on the horizon.
Located on Portland’s extensive light rail system, and just minutes from downtown, the Symposium offers attendees a glimpse of a thriving urban port town. The vibrant Willamette River waterfront, shopping, and dozens of excellent restaurants and cultural attractions are close by or accessible by public transportation. We encourage you to come early or stay after the Symposium to enjoy all Portland has to offer (including no sales tax)!
We realize that an important factor for sponsors and exhibitors is visibility; therefore, our programming supports substantial time in the exhibit hall, with ample opportunity for contacting all attendees in the military, consultant and contractor community. If you are interested in exhibiting or becoming a sponsor, please check out all of the options HERE.
Consistent with our mission, the Portland, San Francisco, and Sacramento Posts will use the proceeds of the Symposium to fund college scholarships. Our goals are to guide students towards careers in engineering and related professions and to promote a greater appreciation for military engineering and the Society. Join us in Portland for the NW/SW JETS!
Respectfully,
Vida G. Wright, PhD, PE, FSAME
Southwest Region Vice President
CDR Terry McCann, USNR (ret.)
Northwest Region Vice President
