Healthy Together - Improving Child Health through Medical-Legal Partnerships
sponsored by Children's Law Center

Thursday, October 23, from 9:30 - 11:00 am

The last person a parent expects to see at the pediatrician’s office is a lawyer – but through medical-legal partnerships, children and families get immediate access to the legal services they need to improve child health outcomes.  Come to Adams Morgan (yes – Adams Morgan!) to meet a lawyer from Children’s Law Center whose office is right in the middle of a Children’s National Medical Center neighborhood-based Children’s Health Center.

Learn about the innovative medical-legal partnership model.

Hear the inspiring stories of clients we’ve helped secure better education, housing, and benefits.

Let medical personnel tell you about their experience having a lawyer as part of their treatment team.

Finally, tour the clinic and the surrounding neighborhood to see how medical care delivery happens for low-income residents of DC. You’ll see parts of Adams Morgan you never knew existed!

If you want to find out about joining other pro bono attorneys who are helping low-income children and families access the educational and health benefits they need to succeed, please join us.  This is a fantastic opportunity to get an inside perspective on the intersection between medical and legal issues in DC.

Pre-registration is required because space is limited to ten participants. To register to attend, email Nancy Drane at NDrane@childrenslawcenter.org.
