Native Tree Planting at Lambert Road #2

**Due to the severe weather storm coming into the Sacramento area this week, this event may be cancelled.  An official email will be sent to all registrants on Friday with an update.**

Volunteers will be revegetating a portion of Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge by planting native trees and shrubs in abandoned agricultural lands.  We hope to plant 200 new tree and shrub seedlings, which will someday provide habitat for local wildlife.   All training and tools for this event will be provided.

Please arrive by 9:00 and expect to stay and work until 12:00.

Planting will take place on uneven and possibly muddy ground. Please be prepared with closed toed, preferably water resistant/proof, shoes and weather appropriate clothing layers.

To access the parking area, minimal off-road driving  on dirt and gravel roads may be required.  After parking, we will be walking 3/4 to 1-1/2 miles to the planting area, depending on road conditions.

We want to ensure that your time with us is a success!  Please prepare for this event in the following ways:

  • Begin your day with a healthy breakfast
  • Wear weather appropriate clothing and closed toed shoes
  • Bring along a water bottle
  • You may want to bring gloves if you have them
  • Bring your completed Volunteer Release form
