Help the Sacramento Tree Foundation harvest acorns and other native plant seeds to be used for our educational programs. These seeds will be used to reforest the Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. Volunteers will hike 3-4 miles on level terrain to collect valley oak acorns and California black walnuts. Due to the length of the hike, this event may not be suitable for small children.
The location for this event is somewhat remote. Volunteers will need to use a map to find the meeting location and look for and follow signs as they approach the area. This is a great opportunity to visit a site within Stone Lakes not usually accessible to the public.
