TPA Group Rate is $189 per night plus state and local taxes. Closing date for the room rate has been extended to  July 14, 2017.  Quoted rates are offered  Wednesday through Saturday.  

The hotel offers free shuttle service to/from the airport.  Call the hotel for pickup and instructions. Parking is available at no charge.

TPA Fellow Course Information

 Abstract

 The purpose of the program is to provide advanced education for audiologists that have a sincere interest in working with patients that have sound sensitivity conditions and/or severe tinnitus.  The program addresses the unique complications these patients encounter.  Following the screening and evaluation process, audiologists will be able to develop an individualized management plan which includes instructive and cognitive counseling, appropriate sound therapy and validation of treatment. The audiologist will receive support services to aid them in working with these often challenging patients.

Learner Outcomes 

  • List common characteristics of the debilitated tinnitus and the sound sensitive patient
  • Describe the neurophysiologic structures of the auditory system which contribute to the presence of severe tinnitus 
  • Identify and categorize sound sensitivity conditions with or without tinnitus and/or hearing loss
  • Identify concomitant disorders and exacerbating circumstances
  • Apply instructive and cognitive tinnitus and sound sensitivity counseling techniques
  • Choose appropriate sound therapy devices for individualized treatment
  • List support and referral services

This is an advanced course.  It is highly recommended that participants have previously taken either a TRT or the TPA Associate Course and have a minimum of 6 months experience working with tinnitus  patients.
