- Father Frank Pavone: Braving Persecution in the Fight for Life
- Rev. Keith Haney: Healing Racial Divides in America
George Floyd’s tragic death prompted mass demonstrations in the United States and around the world. Despite the protests to denounce the discrimination against Black Americans and other people of color, the divide only grows wider and deeper. You would think this is not an issue in the church. It’s sad that people tend to only talk about this issue only when such tragedies occur. We react. Even in the Church. Or especially in the Church? Our interactive workshop will focus on what are the underlying issues of racial division in America. We will discuss how to address sensitive issues with our congregation and look at what is the path forward as believers.
An ordained pastor for over 20 years, Rev. B. Keith Haney has served multi-ethnic urban congregations in Detroit, St. Louis, and Milwaukee for over 13 years. In January 2016, he started to write a blog to encourage believers in their faith journey and non-believers to explore difficult faith issues. The discussion on race in America has grown out of an increased awareness that there were few voices speaking God’s truth and hope into the racial tension. His recent Bible study, “One Nation under God: Healing Racial Divides in America” along with his blog and his podcast Becoming Bridge Builder these resources are opening doors to have an authentic and honest conversation.
- Deaconess Tiffany Manor: From pro-choice to pro-life
The Holy Spirit works through the Word of God to transform lives, including the hearts of people who are pro-choice. Lutherans witnessing the faith, sharing Christ’s love and mercy form a supportive community when a pro-choice person needs to learn God’s truth. Deaconess Dr. Tiffany Manor, director of LCMS Life Ministry will talk about her transformation from pro-choice to pro-life. We will also discuss how Lutherans can witness to people who are skeptical about life matters.

God has a purpose for ALL people regardless of age, stage, life experience, or ability. Join in this discussion of ministry to, with, and from people with disabilitites. Also, get a look at some of the great new resources that Lutherans For Life has prepared to help you in your ministry.
- Dr. Kim Marxhausen: Blessed to care for the caregiver
Caregivers advocate for their loved one, and as children of God, we support caregivers by advocating for them. Let’s take a peek into the work and blessings of caregiving and find ways we can bring joy to the life of these often weary workers. We are truly blessed to care.

Before Luther: A look at Old and New Testament as well as substaantive views around the Reformation.
- Dr Roni Grad MD: Intricately Woven
God personally forms each and every person in his/her mother’s body (Psalm 139:13-16; Isaiah 44:2; Jeremiah 1:5). In this session, participants will learn how His knitting together of the individual unfolds, beginning at fertilization as a one-cell zygote, and progressing to his/her emergence from the womb as a newborn baby. The key take-home message will be that from the very beginning, the baby is one for whom God sent His Son to die on the Cross and rise again, to bless him/her with His gift of life both temporal and eternal, and to be a blessing to others.
- Rev. Michael Salemink: The slave Is a brother: Human Trafficking and the Sanctity of Life
What is human trafficking? How does it happen and whom does it affect? Where is it going on and why do we care? How can we recognize it and what can our families, congregations, and communities do about it? This modern-day slavery has a more widespread reach than we think. It often involves sexual immorality and abortion businesses, and it always devalues our precious neighbors. If Jesus our Savior took the form of a servant in order to liberate from captivity, the Gospel won’t let us ignore human trafficking. Together we’ll explore why we don’t want to!

- Deaconess Pam Nielsen: The Church's Care & Our Confession as Death Draws Near
From the moment the sign of the cross and the name of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, are placed upon us at the font, each one of us begins the journey and preparation toward our eternal home. As death draws near and you and your loved ones enter the valley of the shadow of death, you will face many decisions and considerations at one of the most spiritually, emotionally and physically vulnerable times of your life. In our day, the Church has too often been pushed to the periphery as death draws near, and hospices, funeral homes and cemeteries assert their own agendas and practices on the dying and the bereaved. This presentation will explore the divine tools and gifts that only your pastor and church are equipped with as they walk with you until you or your loved one is safely home in the arms of Jesus. What do you need to know and what can you expect at the end of your days? How can the Church surround, sustain and supply you and your family with the gifts of God so you may die unfearing? How can you encourage others to seek Gods gifts through the Church when they or their loved ones face death?

You will be provided important information that can be readily used in a wide variety of congregational, school, and community settings to help give people a simple framework for understanding: 1) what CRT is, 2) where it came from historically, and, most importantly, 3) outline an appropriate response to it.

How can current Life Teams and the church at large not only affirm the lives of our youth but also help them become engaged in affirming the lives of others? This presentation will discuss the realities youth face, disclose the gifts Gen Z youth bring to the table of 4 Life ministry, and share practical and purposeful ways your Life Team or church can engage youth and promote 4 Life partnerships with them.

As Chrissie shares her experiences and interactions with those who contacted the Word of Hope hotline, be encouraged by a renewed meaning in Joseph’s statement to his brothers, “…you meant for evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today” (Genesis 50:20).
