Interviewee Registration for Go Tell It at the Quilt Show! Videos at QuiltCon 2015

Every quilt has a story and the Quilt Alliance's mission is to collect those stories--from you, the maker, the owner, the collector, the family member--who loves that quilt. Participating in a Go Tell It at the Quilt Show video is easy: tell us the story of your quilt in three minutes or less. We'll post your video online and anyone can watch your quilt's story!

Since the launch of "Go Tell It!" in 2012, our staff, volunteers and partners have collected more than 160 three-minute "Go Tell It!" videos with quilt lovers from around the country. Now it's your turn--we want to hear your story!

This year at QuiltCon in Austin, Texas, we will be interviewing quilters with work exhibited on the show floor. For quiltmakers who do not have a quilt in the show, we'll also be filming interviews in a quiet area of the convention center. During the registration process you will be asked to indicate whether you would like to be interviewed with a quilt on exhibit on the show floor or whether you plan to bring a quilt to our 'interview studio' for your intervew. Let us know when you're available, and we'll assign you a 15-minute slot. We'll be filming:

Thursday, Feb. 19 - 10:30 am-12:00 and 2:00 - 5:00 pm
Friday, Feb. 20 - 10:30 am-12:00 and 2:00 - 5:00 pm
Saturday, Feb. 21 - 10:30 am-12:00 and 2:00 - 5:00 pm
Sunday, Feb. 22 - 2:00 - 5:00 pm

Click here to view the Go Tell It at the Quilt Show! interviewee packet that includes a welcome letter giving you information about what to expect in your interview as well as a release form to give us permission to videotape and use your interview. The packet also includes forms for recording information about your quilt if you decide to accept the option to document your quilt in The Quilt Index, an online repostitory of more than 56,000 historical and contemporary quilts. The Quilt Index is a joint project of the Quilt Alliance, Michigan State University Museum and MATRIX: Center for Digital Humanities & Social Sciences.

Please register by clicking on the blue Register Now! button below to show your interest in being interviewed at QuiltCon. Quilt Alliance staff will contact all those who register online by February 13 with the time and date for their interview by February 16. We'll see you at QuiltCon!

Watch Go Tell It! Interviews on the Quilt Alliance Youtube Channel

To get an idea of what Go Tell It! interviews are like, visit the Quilt Alliance YouTube Channel to see interviews from quilt shows and events around the country, including this interview with 'Best In Show' winner at QuiltCon 2013, Victoria Findlay Wolfe.

Go Tell It! interviews are conducted with quiltmakers, but also with friends and family of quiltmakers, quilt collectors, curators, and anyone who owns a quilt they would like to share. At Festival 2013, Cathy Arnold, the sister of beloved quiltter Libby Lehman, talked about one of the quilts featured in a special exhibit of Libby's work. Watch this Go Tell It! interview.

Please share this email with friends who plan to come to QuiltCon! We hope to be busy bees at the show this year, interviewing as many quiltmakers as possible for Go Tell It at the Quilt Show!
