Study with internationally known diversity trainer Rev. Deborah Johnson.  On Friday we view the video “Vocabulary of Change,” featuring Angela Davis and Tim Wise, leading racial and social justice scholar-activists. Rose Aguilar moderates a rare, unscripted conversation on the state of contemporary global politics. Topics include our culture’s uncritical embrace of pervasive individualism, the myth of meritocracy, and entrenched institutional inequality that has led to racialized public policy; the privatization of education, health care and the environment; and the commodification of many basic needs.  On Saturday, Rev. Deborah leads a community engagement to support participants in going deeper in understanding and practical application.

Rev. Deborah L. Johnson: As the Founding Minister of Inner Light Ministries, an acclaimed public speaker and instructor noted for her dynamic presentations and ability to bring clarity to complex issues, Rev. Deborah is a mentor and teacher’s teacher. She is also the founder and president of The Motivational Institute, an organizational development consulting firm specializing in cultural diversity. Rev. Deborah holds an MBA from UCLA and a ministerial degree from the Holmes Institute of Religious Science where she serves on the faculty.  She has compiled two volumes of the Letters from the Infinite Series including The Sacred Yes and Your Deepest Intent and is currently working on the third.
