Meditation for Beginners

Meditation is not about forcing your mind to be quiet; it is a process to rediscover the quietness that is already there—to move away from the daily mental stress of doubt, fears, and anxiety and move into the expanded awareness and remember our true nature—peaceful and centered. The type of meditation taught in this class is Primordial Sound Meditation (PSM), which uses mantras to take us inward. The mantras have no meaning and are used only for their vibrational quality. These vibrations take your awareness beyond thoughts, into pure silence and pure awareness. We will also participate in discussion about the benefits of regular practice.

Marilyn Faix is a certified Meditation Instructor trained by the Chopra Center for Healing and Chopra University and a daily meditator.  She is currently completing Core 2 classes at Inner Light Ministries and studies at Land of Medicine Buddha.
