'Bear Aware'
Project wild workshop for Teachers
Join us to explore and understand black bears in Colorado through hands-on learning activities from the Project WILD K-12 Curriculum & Activity Guide:
- CPW experts will expand your background knowledge surrounding black bear ecology, research, human-bear conflicts, and management.
- Experience new academic activities focusing on bears to apply both inside and outside your classroom.
- Take home new instructional resources including the Project WILD Guide and tools for teaching about bears and how to co-exist responsibily.
Delta OUT
- This workshop is part of the ‘Delta Outdoor Understanding for Teachers’ professional development program. Delta and Olathe area teachers attending this workshop, plus two other 1-day OUT workshops are eligible for CPW site field trip transportation matching grants and equipment loans. Registration Fee
- There is no fee for the workshop. Please be considerate of our efforts to offer low to no cost workshops with regards to cancellations.
Credit
- A 0.5 continuing education credit from Colorado School of Mines is available for an additional fee of $50. Participants can register and pay for credit (by check only) at the workshop.
- A Delta OUT 'Bear Aware’ Certificate of Completion will be provided to all participants.
What to Expect & Bring:
- We will begin this workshop at Cedaredge Middle School at 8:30 sharp.
- We'll spend some time indoors and outdoors. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.
- If you have a Project WILD guide already please bring it with you, or one will be provided for you. You'll need a sack lunch and water bottle.
