This class is required to work on any pipe scaffold of any height. This includes single frames, rolling towers, baker scaffolds, and stair towers. Also allows you to build scaffolds less than 40'. Students will receive a plastic laminated wallet size certificate with their photo on it. In conjunction with Construction Academy.
What are the training requirements for users of supported scaffolds?
• No individual may use a supported scaffold without a scaffold user certificate
• A user certificate must be obtained from OSHA, an OSHA-trained or certified
provider, or a provider of a four- (4) hour scaffold training course that has been reviewed
by the New York City Department of Buildings

Safety Tips
- All workers on a suspended scaffold must:
- wear a safety harness (dorsal dynamic, OSHA-approved) at all times
- be secured to an individual lifeline at all times
- have an anchor point separate and independent from the outrigger tiebacks
- Thoroughly check motors, brakes and all mechanical equipment on a routine basis. Ensure that proper maintenance is performed prior to operating it on the site and that everything is functioning properly.
- Ensure that all workers operating the motors, brakes, etc. know what to do during mechanical problems, such as when the motor drifts or brakes fail. This additional training can be incredibly useful in preventing the platform from going vertical.
- Never remove any emergency brakes or other safety mechanisms from the scaffold. If these additional safety elements are not functioning properly, workers should not use the scaffold.
