One of the biggest challenges college bound students experience as they prepare for the college application process is creating authentic essays. Application essays showcase who students are as a person and how they will contribute to the school. Also, schools want to know if a student can write! Providing time and space for students to start work on essays early in the summer should better prepare students to meet application deadlines and reduce stress once the school year begins.
The Forest Hills Foundation for Education and Riverbend Education Solutions, LLC are providing an opportunity for rising high school seniors to attend a four-hour workshop devoted to brainstorming essay topics and developing relevant essay structure. Most activities and tools are provided by the College Essay Guy™, an organization focused on providing step-by-step guidance for completing college applications.
The goal of the workshop is for each student to leave with either a solid outline or first draft of a main personal statement and have the tools to develop more.
The workshop will be facilitated by Abigail Whited, owner of Riverbend Education Solutions, LLC. Abigail is an Independent Education Consultant who guides local families through the college search and admissions process.
