We have room for about 80 men; space is filled on a first come, first served basis. Registration fees include shared accommodations (2-3 per room), all meals, and programming. A non-refundable $150 deposit (in USD) paid to BFC/Catalyst Int’l is required at the time of registration. The balance of 500 CHF (Swiss Francs) is due upon arrival at Credo.
Costs for the conference have been discounted for international workers due to the gracious support of Catalyst donors.
TRACTION 2017 Conference in Switzerland
for Men Serving in Europe, Asia, Africa & the Middle East
September 20-26, 2017
Traction is a 6-day experience designed to encourage men who serve in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Traction is different than any other kind of conference. It isn't about filling notebooks or honing leadership skills. It is about living as single men, husbands, fathers, leaders, and as guys who deal with tremendous stresses cross-culturally.
Traction is focused on helping men navigate their roles to regain spiritual footing and momentum to move forward.
Traction is held at Credo, located in one of Switzerland’s most breathtaking regions near Interlaken. The facility has a majestic view of the Alps. There’s soccer, volleyball, hiking, a nearby world class ropes course, and a real castle ruin (guys like ruined castles).
This week of restoration will deal honestly with issues guys contend with:
- Managing stress, isolation, and opposition
- Reconnecting with God through prayer
- Cultivating the character of authentic leadership
- Navigating difficulties with grace
- Honoring God with our sexuality
- Persevering with courage and trust in the face of challenges
All of this will be approached within the context of life on the field as international workers. The mornings at Traction are given to exploring these issues while the afternoons are free for counseling appointments, medical consultation, outdoor activities and personal reflection. Teams and individuals are welcome.
Traction is led by Dr. Daniel Hahn and a team of member care professionals. Daniel and Lori Hahn lead Catalyst Int’l, founded in 2004 to support Christian leaders in highly challenging global environments. Catalyst Int’l also offers the annual Breathe conference for singles, couples and families.
Traction is about taking care of your soul, which will fuel your ability to lead well in the work God has called you to do.
