Monday Creek Watershed Camp 2021

At Monday Creek Watershed Camp campers ages 8 - 12 will canoe, swim, learn fishing skills, explore the natural world by looking for critters, and learn about Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) and local water quality. The week will also include favorite activities like catching macroinvertebrates (crawdads and the like), wilderness survival skills, hiking, and archery.

When: Monday, July 12th - Friday July 16th. Drop-off is 8 - 9 am, Pick-up is 4 - 4:30 pm

Where: Camp will meet at the shelter house in the New Straitsville Veterans Memorial Park. The shelter house is next to Little Italy Pizza in New Straitsville.

Pick-up and drop-off will be at the New Straitsville Memorial Park shelter house on Monday - Thursday. On Friday, pick-up and drop-off will be at Burr Oak Beach.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily and transportation will be provided for field trips.

COVID-19 protocols:

  • Camp will be entirely outside but please note that children will be transported together in vehicles driven by camp staff to and from field trips. Masks will be worn in vehicles unless prohibited for any medical reason.
  • Campers will wear masks if we are ever indoors for weather or emergency reasons.
  • Distancing will be required when masks are removed if we are indoors.
  • Please stay home if anyone in your household is feeling sick.
  • Please contact us if you have further questions about COVID protocols.

A detailed schedule and more need-to-know information will be sent out closer to the date of the camp.

Cost of camp is $50.00 per camper.

Once you register, you will be sent a waiver via email that you must sign and return at the start of camp.
