5th Annual Symposium

Emerging Topics in Applied Behavior Analysis

Please join us for our one-day symposium.
The symposium will open with an address from Laurie Vinkavich-Cole, Interim Executive Director, and
Dr. Cooper Woodard, Vice President Network Clinical Services of The Groden Network, followed immediately with a presentation by keynote speaker Cynthia Anderson, PhD, BCBA-D,  of The May Institute. After the keynote, the schedule of presentations is listed below. 

This conference includes FREE BCBA credits via the Groden Network's ACE Provider Certificate.
A maximum of 6.5 credits.

Conference mission: To enhance the knowledge and skills of professionals working with children, youths, adults, and families with ASD's in evidence-based practices.

Intended audience: This event is appropriate for professionals who work with children, adolescents, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families.  Parents and students are also welcome to attend.

Skill ranking of this event:  This event is appropriate for mental health and allied professionals, teachers and other education professionals, and BCBA’s who work with children, adolescents, adults and their families.

The 5th Annual Groden Network Symposium is co-sponsored by The Groden Center and The Institute for Continuing Education.  The program offers a total of 6.50 contact hours, with full attendance required.  Application forms  will be available on site. The CE processing fee is $10 per contact hour to be paid with registration. CE verifications are mailed to participants following the event. Note:  It is the responsibility of attendees to determine if CE credit offered by The Institute for Continuing Education meets the regulations of their licensing/certification board, including any special regulations for supervision and ethics sessions.

Note:  To receive CE credit, attendees must complete all CE materials, sign in/out at designated locations, and submit a completed evaluation for the program.

Continuing Education Offered

Psychology:  The Institute for Continuing Education is an organization approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Social Work:  The Institute for Continuing Education, Provider 1007, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), www.aswb.org, though the  Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for the program. ASWB Approval Period: 04-13-2015 - 04-13-2018.  Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits.  Social workers participating in this course will receive 6.50 clinical continuing education hours.

Skill Level:  This event is appropriate for mental health professionals of all skill levels.

Instruction Methodology:  Didactic, demonstration, audio-visual, experiential exercises, case examples.

The Rhode Island Chapter of the Autism Society of America is pleased to be able to award limited scholarships of $50.00 for parents to attend this symposium. Please contact Lisa Rego, President of ASARI, at 401-595-3241, to enter your name. Parents will need to register and pay the full amount of $100.00.  After confirmation of attendance at the symposium, they will be refunded $50.00. 

Cancellation policy: Cancellations should be made in writing. A full refund will be made for cancellations received 7 days before the event. No refunds will be given for requests received after 7 days before the event, or for "no shows".
