OCTOBER - Lunch & Learn

We finally made it to Fall! North Texas ISSA is looking forward to another great presentation at the October Lunch and Learn meeting. Let's look at the some fresh perspective at predictive AI techniques for Endpoint Security with our generous sponsors Sirius and Cylance!

Thank you to our sponsors!

Speaker: Scott Scheferm

Scott Scheferman - Cylance

Bio: Mr. Scheferman wears several hats at Cylance, working between the white spaces on the org chart to ensure timely and perfect delivery of our Consulting Services, messaging around the value of predictive AI in the context of cyber security operations, research around how the Temporal Predictive Advantaged (TPA) of Cylance’s AI affects the broader malware economy, threat research and public speaking at conferences around the country. He has over 20 years of focused security experience supporting mission critical DoD, intelligence and commercial operations.”

Presentation Abstract: Endpoint security is a challenge and a necessity for all organizations.  Traditional signature based anti-virus is no longer enough to protect companies from the ever-increasing number of zero day exploits and ransomware. This talk will focus on how predictive AI has become an imperative to endpoint security and how it is being used to stay ahead of the changing threat landscape. The goal of endpoint prevention is to move as far ‘left of bang’ as possible to stop a threat in its tracks, preferably pre-execution before it can cause damage. What is needed is predictive prevention — a technology that can stop unknown threats without any need for signatures, heuristics, behavior, reputation, cloud look-ups, malware analysis, human interaction, or any temporal delay whatsoever. As we enter this 4th Industrial Revolution known as Predictive Artificial Intelligence, it is time for organizations to take back the rarest resource of all in our battle against the ever-changing threat:  Time Itself.

The North Texas chapter of the ISSA Lunch and Learn meetings are open to both members and guests and are held every third Thursday of every month.
