Educate, Advocate, Empower: Regional Trainings


The League of Women Voters of New Jersey is hosting a series of regional trainings around the state! These trainings are for League members and anyone else who is looking to be a more effective activist or learn more about getting involved in the League.

Our first training will take place Saturday, October 21, from 8:30 am - 12 pm at the Doubletree Hotel in Tinton Falls, NJ. Additional trainings will be scheduled in different parts of the state.

Session A (choose one): 9:00 am - 10:15 am

For Your Board

Join League of Women Voters of New Jersey board members Nancy Hedinger, President, Dawn Clarke, Vice President of Voters Service, and Ellen Kemp, Treasurer, for an informative training session for your current and future local League board members. Building leadership in your League is essential!

Gaining Visibility

Join League Executive Director Jesse Burns and League member Deborah McComber to learn how to highlight your League's good works. Discussion will include building a web and social media presence.

Session B (choose one): 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

League Basics

New to the League or interested in learning more about how the League operates? Join League members Marie Curtis and Dallas Grove and League of Women Voters of New Jersey board member Susan Sferas for a basic education in the organization including our policies and procedures.

Step up your Activism

League of Women Voters of New Jersey board members Brendan Keating and Jill Lewis-Spector, and League lobbyist Sandy Matsen will train you in being a more effective activist! Learn the secrets to lobbying and amplifying your voice in government.

Registration is $15 until October 10. A late fee applies after that date. Registration and a light breakfast begin at 8:30 am.
