September 15, 2015 - Omni Austin Hotel at Southpark
This event is designed to give contractors an opportunity to interact with the Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Division leadership as well as your colleagues from across the state. It will feature updates regarding: Sunset legislation and the pending consolidation into HHSC; Prevention and Treatment programs; Quality Management and an opportunity to meet and visit with your contract managers.
One of the field's top concerns about the state's move to more fully integrate behavioral health services and consolidate state agencies is that SUD will loose visibility and standing because it is a relativley small entity compared to much larger service delivery and regulatory systems that will be merged into. To help counter that sort of result, the field needs a strong advocate voice for our specialty services. A plenary session has been added this year that will give contractors more information, tips and ideas on delivering effective policy messages and developing local relationships with Texas decision makers.
