Featured Speakers

Joe Jordan, inspirational speaker and behavioral finance expert, is the author of the award-winning book Living a Life of Significance (Acanthus Publishing, 2013). It has sold over 70,000 copies and is translated in four languages.

Formerly, Joe ran insurance sales at Paine Webber and more recently was a senior vice president at MetLife. He was responsible for retail product development and started their fee-based financial planning program and behavioral finance department.

Joe is also a founder of the Insured Retirement Institute (formally known as the National Association of Variable Annuities or NAVA) and has been featured on the cover of Life Insurance Selling magazine.

For three consecutive years, he has been honored by Irish America magazine as one of the "Top 50 Irish Americans on Wall Street."

He was inducted into the Fordham Football Hall of Fame and has played rugby for the New York Athletic Club for 30 years.

Brian Ashe, CLU has been in the financial services business since 1969, assisting clients with life health, disability, annuity and other financial products.  His work is concentrated in estate conversation, retirement planning, employee benefits and business insurance strategies.  He is the President of Brian Ashe and Associates, Ltd, an insurance sales organization.

Brian is a past president of MDRT.  A popular speaker, Brian has addressed groups in 38 states and 15 foreign countries and writes the “Back Page” column for Advisor Today magazine.   In 2012, he was awarded the John Newton Russell Award, the life insurance industry’s highest recognition. 

The current Executive Vice President of Life Happens, Brian is also the Past President of the Chicago Chapter of SFSP and past NAIFA Illinois Board Member.  The father of four children, he resides in Naperville, IL.

Christopher Ashe, ChFC graduated the University of Illinois in May of 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in History and a focus in economics. Shortly thereafter he joined his father’s practice. In 2016 he completed his ChFC with The American College of Financial Services. He’s currently a member of MDRT and NAIFA.

Chris regularly participates with local chapters of several charitable organizations including The March of Dimes and Habitat for Humanity. In 2012 he was the chairman of the Lisle Chamber of Commerce and served on the board for four years.

He currently lives in Chicago with his wife Erica, who is an Associate Creative Director at Weber Shandwick, a global public relations firm.

 

Aamir Chalisa, MBA is a Managing

Director at the Oak Brook, IL branch of Futurity First Insurance Group (FFIG). He leads this branch with 38 agents, which was a leading Branch at Futurity in 2018.  With a successful record of accomplishment in growing diversity in corporate America, Aamir has 28 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry.


Throughout his career, Aamir has won many sales and management awards and qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) many times. Aamir is also on the Membership Committee of GAMA International and has attended GAMA’s LAMP conferences for the past 23 years. In 2015 he was appointed to the Board of Directors at GAMA and was named GAMA International volunteer of the year.  He has been honored with GAMA’s first in class award twice in his career. He won additional GAMA awards over many years. He has also attended MDRT and LIMRA Conferences many times. He served on the NAIFA National 20/20 task force and is a member of its National Diversity Council.

Aamir recently authored a book named “Leadership Beyond Borders” available on Amazon, where he wrote about discovering diversity and volunteerism across two continents.

Aisha Ghori Ozaki is a manager on the enterprise-wide Inclusive Diversity team at Allstate (since 2015) where she supports communication, marketing, training, education and metrics. Aisha is a frequent presenter and facilitator on diversity and inclusion as well as professional development topics and is devoted to ensuring that all individuals feel welcome, find their passion and contribute toward creating an inclusive environment. Prior to joining Allstate, Aisha worked in higher education for almost 18 years.

Aisha holds both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in Sociology from DePaul University and is certified in the administration and interpretation of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and the MBTI. Aisha volunteers with multiple organizations and especially enjoys her mentoring and time with Upwardly Global Chicago, the DePaul University Alumni Sharing Knowledge (ASK) program, Muslim Women’s Alliance (MWA) and the Career Transitions Center of Chicago (CTC).

In 2013, Aisha received the Diversity Founders Award from MWACE for her hard work and commitment to the Diversity Advancement Committee. 

 

Andrea Williams, CLU®, CFP®, Wealth Management Advisor, is the first African-American woman in Northwestern Mutual's 160-year-old history to be awarded one of the company's top honors, Forum membership. She has also been locally recognized by Northwestern Mutual - Chicago as Financial Advisor of the Year.  In 2019 she was honored by the American College of Financial Services as Millennial Financial Professional of the Year.

Once deciding that her life’s work would be to serve people and their finances, she began her Financial Planning Practice focusing on underserved communities.  Pioneering the Minority and Female business community, she has been recognized for ranking in the top 2% of the industry.  She has been featured in Forbes, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Rolling Out, Black Enterprise and she was named to the Ariel Investments 'Top 40 under 40 Game Changers' for her noted trailblazing and niche clientele.

In addition to running her national practice, she is a sought-after speaker for Northwestern Mutual’s Speaker’s Bureau, STEM and Financial symposiums in addition to Healthcare Conferences nationally and internationally.  She primarily works with physicians, dentists, business owners, professionals in leadership positions and individual who “operate in their own genius”.    

Jeff Keicher was sworn in as State Representative for Illinois’ 70th District on July 17, 2018, to complete the unexpired term of former Representative Bob Pritchard. The 70th District includes portions of Boone, DeKalb and Kane Counties. 

Representative Keicher has built strong community relationships based on trust and personal commitment and seeks to carry that reputation for thoughtful consideration to Springfield. Jeff has been called to lead in many organizations with a strong understanding of the value of dialog and seeking first to listen and understand. He feels strongly that the citizens of the 70th District need representation from an engaged business owner dedicated to doing the right thing, not looking for employment as a legislator.

Representative Keicher has extensive volunteer experience in the community in multiple capacities and on behalf of industry groups. In addition to multiple boards and commissions, Jeff is a NAIFA Illinois Past President and has held executive board positions with the Sycamore Chamber of Commerce, the Sycamore Public Library and the Sycamore Rotary Club. He also spent many years serving on boards for the DeKalb Chapter of the American Red Cross, NAIFA Fox Valley, and the Kishwaukee YMCA.

Representative Keicher is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with over 20 years of professional experience in the insurance industry. In 2006, he opened his own State Farm Insurance Agency in Sycamore. It is currently the largest State Farm Agency in DeKalb County and the 3rd largest in the Rockford Territory. 

Mark Tan, CRPC, LUTCF is a recognized leader and has been active in the insurance community since 2003.  He is a Past President of NAIFA-Illinois State, Past president of NAIFA-Will/Grundy Local, and is presently serving as President of the NAIFA Illinois Foundation.  Mark has also served on the NAIFA National APIC and IFAPAC committees.

He has experience in both the P&C and straight Life/Health/benefits as well as the investment side of the business.  He holds his FINRA Series 7 & 66 and has received numerous awards for both personal production and management. 

In 2017 Mark was awarded the prestigious Brian H. Early Frontline leader award from General Agents and Managers Association (GAMA).  In 2014 he was awarded the NAIFA-IL Young Advisor (YAT) of the year award.  While in personal production, he qualified for MDRT in multiple years.  He is also a graduate of NAIFA’s Leadership In Life Institute (LILI). investment side of the business.  He holds his FINRA Series 7 & 66 and has received numerous awards for both personal production and management.

Mark is currently a Sales Director with Mutual of Omaha Advisors where he helps to recruit and develop new advisors to the industry to the MOA offices in Rosemont, Oakbrook, Mokena and Bloomington Illinois.
