MKM's vision is to improve the lives of all children in the community by giving them access to mindfulness skills which reduce stress and anxiety, develop attention and focus, promote emotional regulation and impulse control, teach empathy and compassion, and create a sense of well-being.
Mindful Self-Compassion Short Course (MSC-SC) is an empirically supported 9-hour, 6-session psychoeducational group intervention that teaches how to treat ourselves as we would treat our friends. Offering the three components of mindfulness, self-kindness, and a common sense of humanity, MSC-Short Course enhances feelings of well-being, balance, and positivity during every day and the most challenging moments in life.
Created by Dr. Kristin Neff and Dr. Christopher Germer, MSC-Short Course offers adults the possibility to develop a practice of cultivating compassion and loving-kindness toward oneself when suffering occurs through informal mindfulness and mindful self-compassion practices.
Who should attend this workshop? Anyone who is interested in exploring and strengthening their relationship with themselves and building emotional strength and resilience through the cultivation of kindness and self-compassion would benefit from attending this program.
