Mindful Self-Compassion 8-Week Program

Register Now!

Mindful Kids Miami invite  you to attend an evidenced-based 8-week program exploring the art and science of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC)

The series will be led by Dr. Patricia D. Isis, Ph.D., a Mindful Self-Compassion teacher certified by Christopher Germer, Ph.D., and Kirstin Neff, Ph.D., creators of the MSC program. This program is an adventure in self-discovery, self-kindness, and a common sense of humanity.  The research-based curriculum is designed to cultivate the skills of self-compassion and to teach core principles and practices that enable participants to respond to difficult emotions and pain with a kind perspective and understanding.  Self-compassion provides emotional strength and resilience, allowing us to admit our shortcomings, forgive ourselves, motivate ourselves, care for others, and be fully human.

Learn the art and science of Mindful Self-Compassion, a key element of mindfulness practice and a foundation for emotional healing. Through this program you will learn simple yet transformative tools for coping and responding to life’s struggles with kindness and compassion.

Practices will include:
 - Meditation
 - Short Talks
 - Interactive and Experiential Exercises
 - Group Discussions

An overwhelming amount of research has demonstrated the value of mindfulness (moment to moment attention on purpose in the here and now, without judgment). Utilizing this lifestyle commitment to manage and reduce stress allows for individuals to move toward greater levels of health and well-being. (Kabat-Zinn, 1990, 1991, 2003).  Mindful self-compassion is an ideal complement to a mindfulness practice. “When we are suffering and feel the urge to help ourselves, we’re experiencing self-compassion…Self-compassion is a healthy and natural response to the suffering.”(Germer, 2009).  Mindfulness can inspire self-compassion.  With kind attention and acceptance, we can offer ourselves tenderness and love no matter how difficult life can be at times.

Here is some recent feedback from an MSC participant: "This journey has been amazing and I am so grateful you have brought it to us right here in our backyard. I have found that many things I knew or heard many times throughout my life are finally sinking in, are finally clear.  Identifying clearly when I am reacting from the hurt child inside and really being able to separate the inner child from the adult I am today has been life changing..."
