Laura Losciale

A graduate of Columbia University, Laura Losciale has both led and served in a myriad of community service initiatives spanning three continents. Her life’s purpose is to help people cultivate inner peace through mindfulness. Her hope is that this will result in more harmonious relations with loved ones, other living beings and with the planet itself. She completed IJ-MBSR with Valerie York-Zimmerman and earned her provisional qualification to teach MBSR from the University of California San Diego’s Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute. On a break from teaching MBSR to adults in the Coral Gables and Pinecrest communities, Laura traveled to Burma where she studied with the late Venerable Sayadaw U Pandita. She regularly attends silent retreats at the Insight Meditation Society in Massachusetts and Spirit Rock in California. Recently she has participated in an MBSR Program and MBSR Teacher Tutorial with Zayda Vallejo.  A mother of three, she holds an MBA from Babson College and is completing her training to become a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher.

8-Week MBSR Program

Saturday Mornings

Starting 9-24-2016 @ 10 am

“You are the world expert on your life, your body, and your mind, or at least you are in the best position to become that expert if you observe carefully. Part of the adventure of meditation is to use yourself as a laboratory to find out who you are and what you are capable of doing.” Jon Kabat-Zinn - Full Catastrophe Living.

Since its inception in 1979, tens of thousands of people have completed the eight-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR) and learned how to use their innate resources and abilities to respond more effectively to stress, pain, and illness. Mindfulness is a way of learning to relate directly to whatever is unfolding in your life, moment-to-moment, with awareness, compassion, acceptance, and curiosity. MBSR is a secular, scientifically informed approach that operates in harmony with any belief system or spiritual background and can be practiced by people of all backgrounds. No prior experience is necessary.

Over three decades of scientific research at medical centers all over the world demonstrate that training in mindfulness and MBSR can positively and profoundly affect participants’ ability to reduce medical symptoms and psychological distress while learning to live life with more enjoyment and balance.

Join Mindful Kids Miami & Mindful Miami for Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), the eight-week course developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness. The course teaches practical ways to integrate mindfulness into daily life and build and sustain a personal mindfulness practice.
