Reception and Lightning Talks: Translating Research into Farmer Benefits

Global agriculture in the 21st Century faces intractable problems that can only be solved with innovative thinking and cooperation across nations, sectors and organizations. Producing sufficient nutritious food for an ever-increasing population in a changing climate under pressure from pests, diseases, and degrading soils requires scientific advances to be translated into tangible, appropriate technologies that can be utilized by smallholder farmers. This requires an integrated approach between scientists, international agricultural development institutions, and farmers to ensure that solutions are accessible to the people that need them.

Please join the UK Science and Innovation Network and 2Blades Foundation, together with a senior research delegation from the UK, to hear about new international initiatives and alliances that will take the products of ground-breaking research directly to the farmer.

Drinks and appetizers will be provided.
