SSWSC's Avalanche Awareness Clinic

Join the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and Back Country United in this one day, 5-hour field session on Avalanche safety! Learn about proper route finding in the backcountry, avalanche awareness and signs of instability, and how to use the tools that could save a life if you venture beyond the ski area boundaries. With a guest appearance by Routt County Search and Rescue, participants will learn what gear to have in the back country, necessary survival skills for spending the night out, and most importantly, what to do and how to act in the event of an avalanche. This introductory program is open to SSWSC athletes ages 12 and up. $25 per SSWSC athlete/Coach. $50 per student . Lunch provided by How Ya Doin' Pizza N Eatz.  Parents may sign up on a waitlist for $50. SSWSC Athlete/Coach fees subsidized by SSWSC.

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE A PARENT / COMMUNITY MEMBER, PLEASE EMAIL DMANTHEI@SSWSC.ORG AND REQUEST TO BE PLACED ON A WAITLIST. Athlete/students/coaches will be entered first, with positions open to parents and community members at a rate of $50.
