Texas public schools are challenged by underfunding and overtesting, as well as efforts to increase privatization of schools. Join us for a conversation with legislators and education leaders about how we can advocate for public education during the 2015 legislative session.
Friday evening's dinner will be at First Baptist Church in downtown Austin, beginning at 6:00 pm. The evening will include interviews with Austin Mayor Steve Adler, AISD Supt. Paul Cruz, and a panel discussion with pro-education State Reps. Donna Howard, Eddie Rodriguez and Gary VanDeaver. We'll also have clips from the recent documentary film, "The Texas Promise," and time to strategize with fellow education advocates.
Saturday's workshops will begin at 9 am (registration and breakfast at 8:30 am) at Reagan HS in northeast Austin. Workshops will be repeated, so participants will be able to join in 2-3 sessions. The workshops are:
