Winning the Budget and Tax Fights: New Messaging and Civic Engagement Strategies to Protect Working Families

On the heels of the healthcare fight, Congress is gearing up for a budget and tax debate with high stakes for low-income families. Center for American Progress has commissioned and socialized timely opinion research to help win the message war and brought together over 20 leading organizations to form the #HandsOff campaign with a goal of stopping cuts to healthcare, nutrition, education, and other basic pillars of economic security to pay for tax cuts for millionaires and corporations. Indivisible has been a leading partner in preparing a grassroots army for the upcoming budget and tax fights and a key member of the #HandsOff Steering committee.

Join us on September 13 from 2:00-3:00pm ET for a funders webinar to learn more about the latest messaging research on budget and tax, and how groups like CAP and Indivisible are working together and with your other grantees to educate the public on what's at stake.

Speakers:

  • Melissa Boteach, Vice President of Poverty to Prosperity Program, Center for American Progress
  • Isaac Bloom, Organizing Director, Indivisible

Sponsored by GIST and the Funders' Commitee for Civic Participation.
