Making Work Pay:
Understanding the impact of the EITC and other tax credits on the lives of low income families

Join the EITC Funders Network, the Grantmakers Income Security Task Force and Grantmakers for Children, Youth and Families for an informative session with the authors of It's Not Like I'm Poor, a newly released book that highlights how low income families are faring since the welfare reforms enacted in the 1990s.

In the wake of welfare reform and the expansion of tax credits (namely the EITC and the Child Tax Credit), low income families receive a significant cash windfall at tax time. Drawing on interviews with 115 families, the authors will share with us what they learned about the impact of the tax time cash infusion on the lives and budgets of working families.  Join us to learn about how low income workers plan to use this cash windfall to support their families as they continue to struggle to get by on meager wages.
