Alaska Snow Safety Conference

Invitation 

You are cordially invited to attend the first Alaska Statewide Snow Safety Conference, hosted by the Alaska Pacific University, the Alaska Avalanche Information Center and the North America Outdoor Institute. Sponsored and supported by the Alaska Division of Parks SnowTrac and the American Avalanche Association.

Who: Alaska Snow Professionals including forecasters, public information providers, educators, guides and ski patrollers.

What: Conference that includes presentations from Alaskan snow experts, networking opportunities and up to date education for both professionals and public.

When: November 4-5, 2011. Friday and Saturday morning sessions designated for snow professionals. Saturday afternoon open to the general public.

Where: Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage.

Why: To bring together those interested in snow, snowmachine and avalanche safety in order to review the history, look at the current state of snow safety in Alaska, discuss opportunities and challenges and ensure that Alaskan residents and visitors have easy access to the best quality snow information and most effective training.
