Performance Testing

This interactive one-day course provides a foundational approach to the value and applicability of performance-based testing in the selection process.  Through a combination of historical perspective, research review, and state of the art development techniques, this session will introduce participants to how performance testing can be integrated into the testing/selection process and take them on a journey from design and development through planning to administration.  Specific topics addressed will include the design and development of exercises and rating criteria, assessor/rating training, and administration issues related to the standardization of performance testing.  Additional areas of focus throughout the course will entail using job analysis data to document the content validity of performance test, ways to improve the validity and reliability of performance tests, and tips for maximizing the effectiveness of performance testing in the selection process.  Course content will be covered through a combination of lecture, individual and group exercises, and discussion.  Participants will be encouraged to ask questions and bring forward challenges they may be encountering in their current use of performance tests.  This course is designed to assist practitioners improve the psychometric properties, defensibility, applicability, and efficiency of performance-based testing in their organizations.
