Fall 2015 Servant Leadership Course
Servant Leadership is a path and practice that invites us into deeper relationship with God and others as we explore both an inward journey of personal transformation and an outward journey of sacred service.
Robert Greenleaf coined the term "servant leadership" as an alternative leadership style for the business world. Episcopal Bishop Bennett Sims recognized that Greenleaf's term spoke to the heart of the Christian journey. Bishop Sims pioneered the articulation of servant leadership in the life of faith and explained its application to all vocations and roles as a transformative way of life.
We will explore three practices at the heart of Servant Leadership:
Classes will be held at Chapel of the Cross in Chapel Hill from 9:15am-11:30am on Fridays, September 9th through November 4th for a total of 9 sessions.
The sliding scale registration fee ($100-$200) includes copies of readings, class materials and handouts. Scholarships are available, contact sarah@johnsonservicecorps.org.
