Bike Van Buren XXVI

These praises make us work even harder to bring together an enjoyable ride that will surpass the last.  NEW this year, in addition to a FREE T-shirt, bikers will receive a FREE commemorative button.  We’re asking our guests to wear the buttons throughout the weekend as they will serve as your “pass” for the event.  Your button will earn you complimentary food & drinks at each hospitality stop, plus you’ll have several opportunities to win free gifts!  

Nestled in the scenic SE corner of Iowa you'll truly enjoy the beautiful landscape and gentle rolling hillsides of one of the most beautiful areas in the state of Iowa.  The designated routes wind through 11 historic Villages nestled amongst the gentle rolling hillsides including the "Historic Hills Scenic Byway." Participants will be sharing the roadways with vehicular traffic. Although the majority of the route is on sparsely traveled paved county roads there are sections that include travel on state highway. For your own safety, helmets are strongly encouraged, but not required.

We will also be playing our "Fun Poker Run" where particpants will draw playing cards at each hospiality stop attempting to build the best hand of poker! $100 will be awarded to the best hand on each day! Other prizes for 2nd best, high, low & worst hands will be provided by Bickels Bicycling & Fitness and Trek.

 

All participants, upon registration, will receive a detailed map, with both days' routes, shortcuts, hospitality and restroom stops identified and commemorative button.  Preregistered participants (by July 26, 2012) will receive their event T-shirt at registration also.  SAG & Technical vehicles will be en route with participants throughout the ride providing water, first aid and assistance as needed.

 Cost of this wonderfully relaxing and fun bike ride (1 or 2 days) is only $30.00 per rider if you register prior to July 26, 2012 ($40.00 if you register after).  Your registration fee includes a "Bike Van Buren XXVI" T-shirt & commemorative event button. (T-shirts will be mailed after the event for those registering after July 26, 2012).

Registration/Check-in will be held at the Keosauqua City Park. Saturday Aug. 18: 7:00am-8:30am and Sunday August 19: 7:00am-8:00am

 

**All riders (under 18 will require parent/guardian signature) will be required to sign a release of liability waiver.

 ANYONE UNDER 18 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN.

DO NOT FORGET TO WEAR YOUR BIKE HELMETS!!!  THEY SAVE LIVES AND HELP AVOID SERIOUS INJURIES.
