Do Your Laundry or You Will Die Alone; Advice Your Mom Would Give if She Thought You Were Listening Getting a young woman’s attention has never been more difficult. That’s why when Becky Blades wrote a good-bye letter to her Harvard-bound firstborn, she began with cheap laundry scare tactics. It was all a ploy to snag her daughter’s attention and slip in last-minute lectures on topics like RSVPs, cell phone etiquette, budgeting and forgiveness. The tactic worked, and at her daughter’s insistence, the letter became a book.
Becky Blades is an entrepreneur, artist, strategist, mentor, civic leader, arts advocate, and an author on creative, adventurous living. She is chair of the board of ARTS KC, the regional arts council, supporting the arts infrastructure and individual artists throughout the 5-county area.
